About HOAs in Rhode Island

Rhode Island community associations are governed by the Rhode Island Condominium Act (R.I. General Laws Chapter 34-36.1) for condominiums and by the general nonprofit corporation statute for HOAs and homeowner associations. The Condominium Act sets requirements for the declaration, bylaws, unit-owner meetings, board elections, and access to records. Each Rhode Island association also adopts its own rules and amendments. HOAproxy collects those documents and makes the full text searchable so owners and prospective buyers can find the provisions that actually apply to a property without paging through recorded land records.
