What Oakwood Glen Swim and Racquet Club Association, Inc.'s governing documents say
This document is a recording of various architectural guidelines and policies for Oakwood Glen Swim & Racquet Club Association, a single-family home HOA in Plano, TX. It provides rules for displaying religious items, flags, and installing solar panels, but does not contain the full community covenants or rules on other topics like leasing, pets, or assessments.
- Religious items display: Owners may display religious items on their entry door or door frame if motivated by sincere religious belief, but the total size of all items cannot exceed 25 square inches. The display must not threaten public health or safety, violate law, be patently offensive, or extend past the door frame edge.
- Flag display and flagpoles: Only the U.S. flag, Texas state flag, and official armed forces flags are permitted. A freestanding flagpole cannot exceed 20 feet in height; a pole attached to the dwelling cannot exceed 6 feet. Flags on freestanding poles must be between 3'x5' and 4'x6', while flags on attached poles cannot exceed 3'x5'. All flagpole installations require prior written approval.
- Solar panels installation: Solar panels require prior written approval from the architectural committee. They may be installed on the roof (preferably on the rear-facing slope unless energy production is at least 10% higher elsewhere) or within a fenced rear-yard or patio (must not exceed fence height). Panels must conform to the roofline, not extend beyond, and blend with roof color. Non-functioning panels must be removed.
- What this document doesn't cover: This document is a set of architectural guidelines and policies, not the full CC&Rs. It does not address leasing, pets, assessments, parking, or other typical HOA rules; those would be in separate documents.
