What Lawler Park Homeowners's governing documents say
This document is a policy of the Lawler Park Homeowners' Association (Frisco, TX), a standard HOA. It solely addresses voting, tabulation of ballots, and election procedures, not the community's full rules or restrictions.
- Voting & elections: Election notice must be given at least 10 days before the meeting. Ballots must be in writing and signed; electronic votes (email, fax, website) are accepted if identity can be confirmed and a receipt provided. Owners can vote by absentee ballot, which will include language explaining that floor amendments may not be counted.
- Recounts: An owner may request a recount in writing within 10 days after the election meeting. The recount must be performed within 30 days by an independent person (e.g., a current/former county judge or election official). The requesting owner pays initially, but if the recount changes the outcome, the association reimburses the cost.
- Access to ballots: A candidate in an election or a person related within the third degree may not count or have access to ballots in that election. The association must provide recount results to requesting owners.
- What this document doesn't cover: This policy does not address typical HOA rules such as assessments, pet limits, leasing restrictions, architectural guidelines, parking, or other community standards.
