What Estates Pilot Knob's governing documents say
This is a 2010 amendment to the original governing documents for the Estates of Pilot Knob, a single-family home HOA in Argyle, TX. It is a partial document that only changes two specific rules — it removes a former equestrian easement and updates fence restrictions. The full set of community rules is not included here, so this is not a complete rulebook.
- What changed: Equestrian easement terminated: The equestrian easement shown on the plat is permanently removed. Any land that was part of that easement becomes part of the adjacent lot, to be used and maintained like the rest of the lot under the covenants.
- Fence rules updated: Fences require approval from the Architectural Control Committee. No fence is allowed in front of a line parallel to the front of the dwelling (the Front Fence Line), with up to 25% of the front facade allowed in advance of that line. Fences may be placed immediately adjacent to side and rear property lines as long as they do not extend past the Front Fence Line extended to side lines. Maximum fence height is 4 feet. Fences must be open (minimum 4-inch spacing between rails/slats) and made of wrought iron or wood. Chain link is specifically prohibited. A living hedge may be used as a fence, subject to the same placement rules, must be evergreen, and kept at a maximum of 4 feet tall. Any encroaching plants must be removed if requested.
- What this document doesn't cover: This is only an amendment from 2010. It does not include the original covenants, so many key rules are missing — such as any age restrictions, leasing rules, pet limits, parking, assessments, or architectural guidelines beyond fences. For the full rules, you would need the original Covenants recorded in 1999 and any other amendments.
